About Pediatric Ophthalmology
Pediatric ophthalmology specialists diagnose, treat and manage children’s eye problems, including physical characteristics of the eye and disease.
Along with diagnosing eye diseases and visual processing disorders, our specialist performs eye exams and surgery, cares for eye injuries and prescribes eyeglasses and/or contact lenses.
Some of the conditions we treat include:
- Eye muscle disorders
- Amblyopia (“lazy eye”)
- Retinopathy of prematurity (often called ROP or Terry syndrome)
- Childhood cataracts and glaucoma
- Ptosis (drooping eye lid)
- Nasolacrimal duct (tear duct) obstructions
- Ocular injuries
