Caring For Your Child's Mental and Emotional Health

Pediatric Behavioral Health

About Pediatric Behavioral Health

Pediatric Behavioral Health specializes in the diagnosis and the treatment of disorders of emotion, cognition and/or behavior affecting children and adolescents from 2 to 18 years of age. Our board certified pediatric psychiatrists provide children and families with the expertise and resources for comprehensive evaluation and treatment.

Initially, a diagnostic evaluation is performed to assess a child's condition with attention to its psychological, biological, social and environmental components. The next step is to develop a comprehensive treatment plan for the child and family, often integrating ongoing care with health, mental health, educational and social service providers in the community. Child psychiatrists are prepared to advocate for children and adolescents in each of these domains of care and support.

Recognizing that Pediatric Behavioral Health is a concern across the lifespan, we focus on issues impacting all age groups, from early childrenhood right up through late adolescence. Our specialists work with parents, families, guardians and child advocates to develop individualized treatment plans for each child or adolescent in our care. Some types of therapy we offer include:

  • Psychopharmacology
  • One-on-one therapy
  • Family therapy
  • Social skills therapy
  • Psychoeducational testing
  • Habit reversal therapy
  • Exposure/response prevention therapy
  • Parent-Child interaction therapy

Working collaboratively across the health care system, we aim to continually identify and create optimal treatment environments and options, providing the necessary cutting-edge mental health services that keep children healthy and improve their lives.
