The Yawkey Children's Counseling Center at Golisano Children's Hospital is available to children diagnosed with cancer and their families. Our full-time pediatric psychologist provides behavioral healthcare and support to chronically ill pediatric patients, their siblings, and their parents. Psychological services are available to families at the time of diagnosis, during treatment, and after treatment have ended. The psychologist also conducts neurocognitive evaluations for the detection of developmental, educational, or neuropsychological effects of illness and medical treatments. Through the Yawkey Center the psychosocial team (including the disciplines of psychology, social work, and child life) works closely with the medical team to provide a multidisciplinary approach to the care of your child.
