Hello Coconut Point: January 4, 2019

From state of the art equipment to the first of its kind technology, Lee Health Coconut Point is providing a wide variety of new services to the community. “We’ve never done a project like this,” said Alex Greenwood, Vice President of Coconut Point.

Offering things like early check-in, self-check-in, mobile navigation, and telemedicine, the facility provides patients with the most advanced technology. “Wayfinding is essentially walking directions, turn by turn directions through the facility. We launched that here at Coconut Point as the first facility, kind of our proving ground to see if this would work. Once a patient downloads the Lee Health mobile app, inside it there is a link for directions,” explained Jonathan Witenko, a business systems analyst with Lee Health.

The 163,000 square foot facility also includes indoor and outdoor rehabilitation services, pediatric and primary care, cardiology services, and a pharmacy. “It’s comprehensive diagnostics, multispecialty Lee Physician Group practice, ER, operating rooms, so we feel like we are going to be able to take care of 90 percent of the community’s health and wellness needs,” said Greenwood.

Inside, patients have access to a lab, imaging services, women’s health care, and integrative medicine, while outside the community can enjoy the walking trails, bike paths, and a pavilion. “For me, it’s really exciting to be a one-stop shop for this community,” said Greenwood.

To help patients maintain and improve their health, the Healthy Life Center offers a series of educational lectures, cooking demonstrations, and yoga and Pilates classes. “We’ve had significant growth in this community. There’s a significant demand for health and wellness services,” said Greenwood.

Expanding and advancing the care for patients throughout Lee County.
