Change Your Mind, Change Your Life: April 18, 2019

“By changing your perceptions, you change your life!”  It’s an empowering message, Carolyn Beauchamp, a hypnotherapist on the medical staff of Lee Health, helps people achieve. “What I do, is I teach people how to balance the brain.”

Through different exercises, she helps participants understand how they think and react—and guides them to a more positive mindset. “We see how the brain really works, and how the left and right brain are different hemispheres and they operate very differently,” said Beauchamp.

People are considered left brain dominate if they are constantly thinking, analyzing, and worrying about the past or future. People are considered right brain dominate if they are creative, daydreamers, and always in the present moment. “Being in either one predominately is not good. What I do is I teach people how to balance the brain,” Beauchamp explained.

Using a series of micro-muscle movements, she teaches people how to communicate with their subconscious mind.   “If you are really, really clear on what’s happening at the moment then you can change it,” she said.

Through awareness and positive repetition, participants can learn how to undo bad habits and start making healthy choices. “We literally are changing our brain not only changing our thoughts; we are changing physical matter,” Beauchamp said.
