New Physician Leadership Development Program Launched September 5th


Lee Health, in partnership with the American Association for Physician Leadership (AAPL), is proud to offer this 18-month program targeted specifically to employed and independent physicians, and designed to build physician leadership capability across our community.

Our vision for this program is to integrate, align, and engage physicians to advance health and healing in southwest Florida. Forty-three out of 90 applicants were selected for this year's inaugural Physician Leadership Development Program.

The Physician Leadership Development program includes 10 live, full-day sessions conducted by AAPL Faculty and Lee Health Executives, and five on-line courses that can be completed throughout the duration of the 18-month program. Quarterly evening networking and education sessions are also included to enhance professional development, social and collaboration opportunities among peers.

Physicians will be awarded 104.5 total CME's for their participation in the 18-month program, and will be encouraged to attend designated committees, workgroups, physician meetings or interdisciplinary projects to share expertise, thought leadership, and best practices learned through participation in the program. Physicians completing the Lee Health Physician Leadership Development Program can subsequently pursue the prestigious Certified Physician Executive (CPE) credential, and apply credits toward a Master's degree.
