Free Functional Nutrition Lecture Series at the Healthy Life Center

(Fort Myers, Fla. – Jan. 3, 2017) --- Functional nutrition is an emerging specialty within the field of nutrition. Focused on improving health through specific, targeted nutrition, functional nutrition is personalized based on each person’s health conditions, symptoms, blood work and lifestyle. Lee Health’s Healthy Life Center at Coconut Point (23190 Fashion Drive, Suite 105, Estero) is hosting a Functional Nutrition Lecture Series to help introduce you to the ways nutrition can affect a variety of issues, from energy and fatigue to pain and more. The lectures in the series include:

Jan. 12, 1-3 p.m., “Functional Nutrition Approach to Energy and Fatigue” with Jose Colon, M.D., MPH

Jan. 31, 11 a.m.-noon, “Repairing a Leaky Gut” with Julie Hill, RD, LDN

Feb. 23, 3-4 p.m., “Mindfulness, Health & Wellness” with Nancy Gresham, PT

March 14, 11 a.m.-noon, “Factors of Hormone Imbalance” with Julie Hill, RD, LDN

March 30, 5-6 p.m., “Functional Medicine Approach to Pain” with Sebastian Klisiewicz, D.O.

April 7, 1-2 p.m., “Food Technology” with Jose Colon, M.D., MPH

“Food can be a cure or it can be a poison,” explains Carrie Bloemers, personal health advocate at the Healthy Life Center. “We are excited to share this lecture series that breaks down the ways we can use food as medicine to enhance our health and well-being.”
