Bruens Joins Lee Health as Vice President of Oncology Services
Fort Myers, Fla. – June 1, 2017) --- Lee Health is proud to welcome Dennis Bruens, M.P.A., F.A.C.H.E., Vice President of Oncology Services.
In his role, Bruens is responsible for setting the strategic direction and planning for Oncology Services, including inpatient and outpatient oncology services, cancer navigators, genetic counseling and the Breast Health Centers.
Bruens has more than 20 years of experience and comes to Lee Health from St. Thomas More Hospital in Canon City, Colo. where he served as Vice President of Operations. Previous to that post, he served as director of the Penrose Cancer Center and led the Penrose-St. Francis Behavioral Health Program in Colorado Springs.

Bruens earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications from Mesa State College in Grand Junction, Colo. and a Master of Public Administration degree in health care policy from the University of Colorado at Denver. He is a Fellow of American College of Healthcare Executives and has held membership in the Association of Community Cancer Centers. Bruens has served on the board of the Colorado Cancer Research Program and has held several board positions for community mental health centers.
