Adult Living Symposium Set for March 23 at Healthy Life Center

Symposium Offers Information and Education about Local Adult Living Options

(Fort Myers, Fla. – Mar. 3, 2017) --- Lee Health’s Healthy Life Center is presenting an Adult Living Symposium, Thursday, March 23, 2-4:30 p.m., in the Auditorium at Lee Memorial Hospital, 2776 Cleveland Avenue, Fort Myers. The symposium will feature a panel of representatives from local independent and assisted living facilities, continuing care retirement communities and memory care facilities. The symposium aims to answer:

  • What is the difference between an assisted living facility and an independent living facility?
  • What is a continuing care retirement community?
  • What is memory care?
  • And other questions about care for the ailing and aging

“This Adult Living Symposium offers us the opportunity to partner with some of our local facilities and communities to raise awareness of each option to aging consumers in Lee County,” explains Christina Austin, aging life care manager with Lee Health’s Senior Care Choices. “The goal of the symposium, and specifically the panel discussion, is to help answer many of the questions seniors and their families have about adult living options.”

The Healthy Life Center at Coconut Point provides a variety of services and educational events that support healthy lifestyles, early detection of disease and chronic disease management. All of the Healthy Life Center’s programming is dedicated to maintaining and improving health.
