Antonucci Installed to Florida Hospital Association Board of Trustees
(Fort Myers, Fla. – Nov. 9, 2017) --- Larry Antonucci, M.D., MBA, Lee Health’s President & CEO, was recently appointed and installed to the 2017-2018 Florida Hospital Association’s (FHA’s) Board of Trustees. Through representation and advocacy, education and informational services, the FHA supports its membership of more than 200 hospitals and health care systems throughout the state to provide the highest quality care to patients they serve.
“We are pleased to welcome Larry to the FHA Board,” says FHA President Bruce Rueben. “As a physician leader, Larry provides critical insight on furthering our mission to care. His demonstrated leadership and strong commitment to service make him a valuable addition to the FHA Board of Trustees.”
Dr. Antonucci has nearly 35 years of leadership experience—both as a practicing obstetrician/gynecologist (OB/GYN) and as a health care executive.
In 2007, Dr. Antonucci joined Lee Health as Chief Administrative Officer for Cape Coral Hospital. By 2009, he was appointed Chief Operating Officer of Hospital Services for the health system and assumed responsibility for Physician Services in early 2010. In October 2011, Dr. Antonucci was named Chief Operating Officer for the health system, and assumed the role of President and Chief Executive Officer in June 2017.
Prior to joining Lee Health, and for 24 years, Dr. Antonucci was a well-respected, practicing OB/GYN. In 1983, he co-founded Physicians Primary Care (PPC), a large, multi-specialty group practice in Lee County, and served as its managing partner for many years.
“I am proud to serve on the FHA Board of Trustees,” Dr. Antonucci says. “It is an honor to join other health care leaders in advancing the mission and vision of the FHA. It is important to me, and to Lee Health, that I have a role in the continued advocacy for the resources necessary to provide high-quality, affordable health care throughout our state.”
The mission of FHA is to advocate proactively on behalf of hospitals at the state and federal levels on issues that will assist members in their mission of community service and care to patients. For more information, visit www.fha.org.
