HealthPark Care & Rehabilitation Center Earns Highest Rating from U.S. News

Lee Health Facility Merits “Top Performing” Status Two Years in a Row

(Fort Myers, Fla. - Nov. 1, 2017) – HealthPark Care & Rehabilitation Center has been listed as a 2017-18 Best Nursing Home by U.S. News & World Report, receiving a five-star rating. Only 15% of the facilities that U.S. News rated achieved “Top Performing” status by earning an overall rating of at least 4.5 stars. Last year, HealthPark Care & Rehabilitation Center was one of only four facilities in Lee County that earned “Top Performing” status in the ratings (20 Lee County facilities were rated).

Analyzing data posted by the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), U.S. News & World Report assigns each facility a rating ranging from 1.0 to 5.0. Best Nursing Homes has several enhancements designed to make the ratings more meaningful to consumers than CMS’s star ratings -- including evaluating a nursing home’s performance over time by averaging the CMS star ratings over a 12-month period, plus greater emphasis on medical quality measures and on providing rehabilitation services. Ratings are based on data including health inspections, nurse staffing, and measures of medical quality of care.

“We are proud of this honor,” says Troy Churchill, Administrator, HealthPark Care & Rehabilitation Center. “This affirms our dedication to excellence and is a testament to the staff’s outstanding efforts and teamwork as dedicated partners in patient care.”

HealthPark Care & Rehabilitation Center is a skilled nursing facility with 112 beds located adjacent to HealthPark Medical Center, where focused medical care is combined with personalized support services to help patients achieve their optimal health and independence.

Homes that earn ratings of 3.5 to 4.4 are designated on the website as “Above Average,” those rated 2.5 to 3.4 are “Average,” those rated 1.6 to 2.4 are “Below Average,” and those with ratings below 1.6 are rated as “Poor”.
