Arts in Healthcare Announces Calendar Contest Winners
(Fort Myers, Fla. – Oct. 23, 2017) --- The Arts in Healthcare program at Lee Health is proud to announce the winners of the 2018 Art by the disABLEd Calendar Contest. Over 25 works were entered and placed on display in the atrium of HealthPark Medical Center. A local panel of six judges chose five winners from the entries.
First Place went to Linda Livesay for her piece, titled ‘Mom’s Vase’. Linda is an artist from the Special Populations program in Cape Coral. Her art will be featured on the cover of the 2018 Arts in Healthcare calendar and on permanent display on the 5th floor of the Rehabilitation Hospital at Lee Memorial Hospital.
Second Place went to Janice Orozco for her pen and alcohol ink drawing titled, ‘Friends’. Third Place was awarded to Gwenn Kranz of Fort Myers for her mixed media work entitled, ‘Coral Reef’. An Honorable Mention award named ‘The People’s Choice’ award went to Jackie Pratt of the Lighthouse Center of Southwest Florida for her piece, ‘Tres Tucanes’.
An Honorable Mention award also went to Carol Murphy of the Lighthouse Center for her piece, ‘The Meadow’.
All winners in the calendar contest will be featured in the Art by the disABLEd Gallery in the atrium at HealthPark Medical Center through the holiday season and all works are for sale. A portion of the sales goes to the artist and a percentage goes to the Lee Health Arts in Healthcare Program.
