Lung Cancer Awareness Events Set for November

(Fort Myers, Fla. – Oct. 31, 2017) --- According to the Healthy Lee Community Health Needs Assessment, lung cancer is the leading cause of death in Lee County. To help raise awareness of the prevention and treatment of lung cancer, Lee Health has two events planned for November.

Clear the Air with Lung Cancer Prevention Saturday, Nov. 4, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Healthy Life Center at Coconut Point, 23190 Fashion Drive, Suite 105, Estero


  • Dr. Raymond Santucci, pulmonologist with Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine Specialists of SW Florida, who will discuss the causes and diagnostic process of lung cancer.
  • Dr. Randall Buss, a cardiothoracic surgeon with Shipley Cardiothoracic Center. Dr. Buss will discuss the surgical treatment of lung cancer.
  • Dr. Anita Arnold, Lee Physician Group cardio-oncologist, who will discuss the evaluation of cardiology needs of patients prior to and after cancer treatment.
  • Dr. Keith Miller, a radiation oncologist with 21st Century Oncology. Dr. Miller will discuss screening and radiation treatment.

This inaugural event is for lung cancer patients, survivors, health care employees and the community. There will be valuable education about prevention, as well as information and resources for treating and surviving lung cancer.
