Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida
As the only children’s hospital between Tampa and Miami, Golisano Children's Hospital delivers vital and lifesaving care for children and their families. Our highly trained team members are motivated by the belief that every child is special and deserves the best care possible.
Once housed inside HealthPark Medical Center, the children’s hospital became a 300,000 square foot standalone, 7-story facility in 2017 thanks to a groundbreaking $20 million gift from philanthropist Tom Golisano. It now provides a variety of specialized services, including emergency care, neonatal intensive care, pediatric surgery, critical care, orthopedics, cancer treatment, cardiology, pediatric neurosurgery and more.
The hospital is a member of Children’s Miracle Network, a nonprofit organization that raises funds for children’s hospitals across the nation. Local donations through the Children’s Miracle Network stay in Southwest Florida to support Golisano Children’s Hospital. Fast Facts:

- Top Children’s Hospital by The Leapfrog Group: awarded four times for overall excellence.
- Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit: the highest designation for neonatal care.
- Regional Perinatal Intensive Care Center: the only state-designated center in Southwest Florida.
- Lantern Award from the Emergency Nurses Association: received twice, most recently for 2022–2025, recognizing exceptional emergency care.
- Asthma-Friendly Hospital: designated by the Florida Asthma Coalition.
- EEG Lab Accreditation: 5-year accreditation by ABRET for excellence in neurodiagnostic testing.

Golisano Children’s Hospital continues to lead the region in innovation and family-centered care through the following specialized programs and services:
- Milk Lab: The only one of its kind in the region, this specialized lab processes and stores breast milk for hospitalized infants, using fortifiers to meet each baby’s individual nutritional needs.
- Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care Center (PPEC): Offers daycare-style support for children with complex medical needs, giving parents time to work or rest.
- Pediatric Transport Services: Operates four dedicated ambulances including one specially designed for mom and baby. Our teams are ready to transport critically ill children throughout Southwest Florida.
- Patient Family Advisory Committee (PFAC): Engages families to help improve the care experience through active feedback and collaboration.
- Child Life & Child Advocacy Programs: Promote emotional well-being and provide essential support for patients and families.
- Southwest Florida Eye Institute: Opened in August 2021 to expand access to comprehensive pediatric eye care in the region.
