Lee Health is Using Social Media, Local Media to Keep You Informed

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Lee Health has been committed to transparently reporting the state of COVID-19 in our hospitals. Through regular postings on our Facebook page (www.Facebook.com/LeeHealth), we provide updates on our hospitalizations, admissions and discharges, ventilator and intensive care unit availability and more. We also utilize that page to encourage our community to help us fight the coronavirus. We have held Facebook Live events (the most recent was held on Aug. 24 and saved to the page) to allow community members to ask any questions about COVID-19 and the state of the virus in Southwest Florida.

In addition to our communications through social media, we also have committed to press conferences, which we will hold weekly until further notice as we fight through this surge. We appreciate our media partners for helping us provide pertinent and timely information to our neighbors, families and friends throughout our community.

Right now, Lee Health is caring for more than 100 more patients with COVID-19 than we did during previous surges. We are asking (through as many communication vehicles we can) that you do your part to help fight this pandemic. If you can, get the vaccine – you can go to Publix, Walgreens, CVS and other retailers, or go to www.LeeHealth.org and schedule an appointment at our vaccine clinic. Wear your mask, wash your hands and social distance.

Please remember, too, our emergency departments continue to see more and more patients, which is resulting in longer than normal wait times, so if you are not experiencing a medical condition that requires examination and treatment, please seek testing at an alternate site. You can get tested for COVID-19 at the Florida Department of Health, CVS, Walgreens, Curative, Any Lab Test, ARCPoint Labs of Fort Myers, Lee Convenient Care and other urgent care centers.

Our teams throughout Lee Health will continue to show up every day and night to care for and serve our community, and we will continue to keep you updated by sharing the reality of what we are facing inside our hospitals. We hope that you will do what you can to help ease the spread of COVID-19.
