Lee Health Opens Additional COVID-19 Testing Sites

From the Desk of Dr. Antonucci

Sept. 1, 2021

Just as cases of COVID-19 are surging in our community, so is the demand for testing. To help increase capacity for testing, Lee Health has partnered with Curative to add new testing sites at Lee Convenient Care locations in Fort Myers and Cape Coral. Drive-through testing opened at the Page Field location on Monday, Aug. 23. The testing site is open 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., seven days a week. We hope to open additional testing sites at our Pine Island Road and Metro Parkway Lee Convenient Care clinics, too. Keep an eye on our website, www.LeeHealth.org, for more information about when these testing sites open.

Testing is free, a physician referral is not required, but an appointment should be made at Curative’s website (www.Curative.com). These tests are self-collected and painless, and you will receive your results digitally in 1-2 days.

These testing sites, along with those at the Florida Department of Health, CVS, Walgreens, Any Lab Test, ARCPoint Labs of Fort Myers and other urgent care centers, will help meet the needs of our community and decompress our emergency departments. We continue reminding our community to avoid coming to the emergency departments for testing and go to one of these alternate sites instead so our emergency departments can focus treatment on patients who are experiencing conditions that require examination and treatment.

We also continue urging and encouraging everyone in our community to take every precaution possible, especially getting vaccinated. If you haven’t yet received it and you are ready to get the vaccine, our walk-in Community Vaccination Clinic is open 7:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Tuesdays and Fridays inside Gulf Coast Medical Center. We welcome all of our neighbors throughout Southwest Florida aged 12 and older to stop in and get the vaccine – it is available free of charge and can help keep you and others safe.
