Supporting educational pursuits, growth and development of our team members helps us recruit and retain the best and brightest workforce, ensuring the safest, highest-quality care is available for our community.
The Lee Health Education Award Program allows our employees and volunteers, as well as family members and prospective employees throughout our community who work in or want to enter high-demand healthcare careers apply for grants. The application period runs from March 1 through April 30 and those interested in applying can email [email protected] or call the Human Resources department at 239-343-1555.
Since launching in 2015, the Lee Health Education Award Program has helped thousands of Lee County residents pursue and fulfill their education and career goals, which have ranged from phlebotomy to Bachelor or Master of Nursing degrees to physical therapy, healthcare management, cardiovascular technology, midwifery, biomedical science, social work and more.
Last year, 204 recipients received a total of $252,000 thanks to the generous contributions and funding from local benefactors, including but not limited to:
- Cape Coral Hospital Auxiliary Grant
- Donald J. Fjellin Educational Grant Endowment Fund
- Edward and Gale McBride Education Scholarship
- Ellen McDonald Endowed Pediatric Nursing Scholarship (for those who plan to work in pediatrics at Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida)
- Eloise M. Carlson Educational Grants
- Gulf Coast Medical Center Auxiliary
- Jim Nathan Endowment Fund
- Lee Health Foundation
- Lee Memorial Auxiliary’s Linda D. Johnson Education Scholarship
- Madeleine R. Taeni Nursing Education Fund
- Nathan Family Educational Excellence Grant
- Robert and Frances Feuchter Endowment
Education grant recipients are selected based on academic achievement, financial need, career goals and field of study.
We are very grateful for the generous donors who help support the growth and development of our team members, current and prospective, and invest in the future of healthcare in our community.
