Healthcare in the Comfort of Your Home

Dr. Larry Antonucci's Blog Posts

Healthcare for non-life-threatening conditions is available in the place where you feel most comfortable—your home, thanks to Lee Health’s partnership with DispatchHealth. A great option, especially during this busy season when Lee Health is seeing more patients in our hospital emergency departments, DispatchHealth brings convenient, affordable, same-day medical care to your home.

DispatchHealth is ideal for the treatment of conditions that you would typically seek care for in an urgent care office, like the flu, COVID-19, colds, sinus infections, strep throat, bronchitis, urinary tract infections, cuts and lacerations that require stitches, minor fractures, sprains, strains and more. Appointments are available 8 a.m.-10 p.m., seven days a week, including holidays, across Bonita Springs, Estero, Fort Myers Beach, Fort Myers, Lehigh Acres, Cape Coral and Babcock Ranch.

DispatchHealth is easy to use, and appointments can be made without a referral. Visit or call 239-301-3730, explain your symptoms, provide some details about your illness or injury and note the name of your primary care doctor or healthcare clinician. The DispatchHealth onboarding team will confirm it is not an emergency and that it’s safe to treat your medical condition at home. Within a few hours, the medical team will arrive, ready to treat you in the privacy and comfort of your home.

In addition to treating your illness or injury, the care team will call in any prescriptions, update your doctor and handle billing with your insurance company. DispatchHealth is in-network with most insurance plans and is often the same out-of-pocket cost as an in-network urgent care center. Costs will be different for each patient based on the level of care and insurance coverage, but it is more cost-effective than a trip to the emergency department.

We recognize that our patients and neighbors throughout our community may want an in-person experience with a healthcare clinician—versus the virtual option of telehealth—but may still feel nervous or anxious about the spread of seasonal viruses. Our partnership with DispatchHealth helps us deliver the right care our patients need in the safety and privacy of their homes.
