With flu, COVID-19 and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) circulating this fall and winter, Lee Health wants to remind you to practice good hand hygiene, stay home if you are feeling sick and get your annual vaccinations. We would also like to remind you Lee Health partnered with DispatchHealth to bring convenient and affordable same-day medical care to your home for non-life-threatening health issues.
DispatchHealth is ideal for the treatment of conditions that you would typically seek care for in an urgent care office, like fall respiratory viruses, colds, sinus infections, strep throat, bronchitis, urinary tract infections, cuts and lacerations that require stitches, minor fractures, sprains, strains and more. DispatchHealth appointments are available 8 a.m.-10 p.m., seven days a week, including holidays.
DispatchHealth is easy to use, and appointments can be made without a referral. Visit www.DispatchHealth.com or call 239-322-3435, explain your symptoms, provide some details about your illness or injury and note the name of your primary care doctor or healthcare clinician. The DispatchHealth onboarding team will confirm it is not an emergency and that it’s safe to treat your medical condition at home. Within a few hours, the medical team will arrive, ready to treat you in the privacy and comfort of your home.
In addition to treating your illness or injury, the care team will call in any prescriptions, update your doctor and handle billing with your insurance company. DispatchHealth is in-network with most insurance plans and is often the same out-of-pocket cost as an in-network urgent care center. Costs will be different for each patient based on the level of care and insurance coverage, but it is more cost-effective than a trip to the emergency department.
We recognize that our patients and neighbors throughout our community may want an in-person experience with a healthcare clinician—versus the virtual option of telehealth—but may still feel nervous or anxious about the spread of seasonal viruses. Our partnership with DispatchHealth helps us deliver the right care our patients need in the safety and privacy of their homes.
Along with DispatchHealth, Lee Health offers on-demand telehealth care for non-emergency symptoms 24/7/365 through Lee Telehealth—visit www.LeeHealth.org and search “Telehealth” for more information. We also have Lee Convenient Care urgent care clinics where you can walk in for care seven days a week in locations in Cape Coral, Fort Myers and Bonita Springs. Search “Urgent Care” on the homepage of our website to find locations and more information.
