Lee Health’s mission is to be a trusted partner, empowering healthier lives through care and compassion. For those living with chronic health conditions, like arthritis, diabetes, heart disease or high blood pressure, we see and understand how having a trusted partner, gaining a level of understanding and being empowered to manage their conditions can help them avoid complications and hospitalizations. A free, six-week program called “It’s All About You” is one example of the ways Lee Health aims to live our mission.

Originally developed at Stanford University, “It’s All About You” is an evidence-based workshop that teaches people 18 years of age and older how to better manage their chronic conditions. Throughout the lively, fun and interactive 2.5-hour sessions, the program stresses the importance of managing medications, as well as the benefits of exercise, healthy nutrition and stress management. Participants meet and gain support from others who have similar health conditions.

The next series of workshops are being offered on Mondays, beginning Sept. 12 from 1-3:30 p.m., at the Friendship Baptist Church, 2030 Palm Avenue in Fort Myers. To sign up for the class or for more information, call 239-424-3121.

We are proud to offer this program and to partner with and walk with those in our community who are living with chronic conditions so they can gain more understanding and confidence to live their healthiest life possible.
