National Doctors’ Day (March 30) recognizes the contributions of physicians to the health and well-being of all of us in communities across our country. At Lee Health, we have more than 2,000 physicians on our medical staff who provide Southwest Florida with leading-edge, high-quality, compassionate care.

I was a long-time practicing obstetrician/gynecologist. I know what it takes, the immense commitment necessary, to care for and serve others every day and night. I see in our team of doctors their exceptional dedication to patient-centered care, compassion, empathy, and quality and safety.

As we all know, the past few years have been challenging for all of us, and I am so proud of the ways our doctors (and the entire health care team) have stepped up to care for our community through the global pandemic; and then during and after Hurricane Ian. The resilience of our team and their enduring commitment to service is worthy of our appreciation – on Doctors’ Day, for sure, and throughout the year.

In honor of Doctors’ Day, please join us as we recognize and celebrate our doctors. If you would like to recognize a doctor who has a made a difference in your life, share your story with us on social media (www.Facebook.com/LeeHealth) or email us at [email protected]. Additionally, the Lee Health Foundation is inviting patients across Southwest Florida to consider making a tax-deductible donation in honor of a doctor who made a difference (visit www.LeeHealthFoundation.org/DoctorsDay). Gifts to the Lee Health Foundation help support our lifesaving mission, helping our not-for-profit health system purchase the latest equipment or technology or fund services or programs to support the needs of our community.

Thank you, and happy Doctors’ Day to our team of exceptional physicians, and thank you to all of our patients who put their trust, health and well-being in the hands of our physicians. Caring for our community is our honor and privilege.
