Cheri Cartwright Appointed as Lee Health’s Vice President of Surgical Services

(Fort Myers, Fla. – Dec. 19, 2022) --- With extensive experience serving in past surgical services roles, Cheri Cartwright, RN, has been selected to serve as Lee Health’s new vice president of surgical services.

In her new role, Cartwright will drive operational excellence across all Lee Health surgical services, including inpatient and ambulatory surgery centers, and the engagement and oversight of contracted anesthesia services. She will also lead operations of Lee Health’s sterile processing department.

“Cheri will ensure that safety and quality standards are being met and exceeded so surgical patients always receive the highest level of care,” said Armando Llechu, Lee Health’s chief officer of hospital based care. “Cheri will use her decades of experience to help us execute innovative projects and make Lee Health the premier surgery destination in Southwest Florida for both physician practices and our patients. I look forward to all she will accomplish in this role.”

Cartwright comes to Lee Health from Mercy Health System in Fort Smith, Arkansas, where she served as chief nursing officer. Prior to her role with Mercy Health, she was the vice president of surgical services for Duke LifePoint Haywood Regional Medical Center in Haywood, North Carolina. She was also previously the director of ambulatory surgical services for Mission Health in Asheville, North Carolina.

Cartwright began her role with Lee Health in November.
