Clarion Health Brings Physician-lead Approach to Medicare Advantage

(Fort Myers, Fla. – Oct. 1, 2019) --- With today’s launch of Clarion Health, Medicare-eligible patients in Southwest Florida now have an innovative new option when selecting their health plan. Clarion Health is different from traditional Medicare Advantage plans. Clarion is a physician-led health plan that was designed and is led by local doctors who patients already know and trust.

Clarion Health strives to bring a better approach to Medicare for Southwest Florida’s seniors. The plan is designed to provide better benefits, personalized care and easy to understand, with online tools and a designated service team to help members get the most out of their coverage. In addition to taking the guess work out of Medicare, Clarion Health offers the following benefits:

  • $0 Plan Premium
  • $0 Deductible for Medical and Pharmacy Benefits
  • $0 Copay for primary care physician visits
  • $0 Copay for Select Care Drugs
  • No referral required to see a specialist
  • Integrated Dental and Eye Care

Clarion was established by Lee Health to align with physicians, hospitals and other healthcare facilities in a seven county region from Collier County up to Sarasota County.

“We are thrilled to join with many providers across the region to bring a physician-led solution to the tens of thousands of Medicare-eligible beneficiaries living in our community,” said Larry Antonucci, M.D., MBA, Lee Health president and CEO. Clarion Health will help patients cut through the red tape that often accompanies Medicare Advantage plans, and this innovative approach will empower physicians to create a personalized model of care that supports physical, emotional and financial health.”

Medicare Advantage plans are paid directly by Medicare for services performed and provide integration of Part A (hospital insurance), Part B (medical insurance coverage), Part D (Drug Coverage) and supplemental benefits like dental and eye care. Clarion Health officially launches marketing on Oct. 1, 2019 and patients will be able to begin enrolling on Oct. 15. After, benefits will begin on Jan. 1, 2020.
