Lee Health’s Partners in Wellness Program Expanding to Recognize Local Southwest Florida Employers

Press Releases

(Fort Myers, Fla. - May 22, 2024) --- Supporting Southwest Florida employers that are improving the health and wellness of our community is directly aligned with the mission of Lee Health. We are pleased to announce that Lee Health’s Partners in Wellness program is expanding. NeoGenomics Laboratories Inc. and Lee County Government received their designations in May 2024 as the first two employers recognized.

Lee Health’s Partners in Wellness program recognizes organizations and communities that provide wellness resources to promote healthy outcomes, such as preventative screenings, wellness education, and chronic disease programs. The Partners in Wellness program began in 2022 when it identified local communities that actively worked to improve the health and wellness of their residents by promoting wellness programming and activities. Communities that have been recognized include Babcock Ranch, West Bay, Cypress Cove, Bonita Bay, Spring Run Golf Club, Pelican Preserve, Tidewater, The Club at Grandezza, Gulf Harbour Yacht & Country Club, Lighthouse Bay, Corkscrew Woodlands, River Hall, Lee County Parks & Recreation, and Heritage Palms Golf & Country Club, which was the first.

To earn this designation, communities and employers work to engage residents and employees, respectively, through several initiatives, including meeting with Lee Health representatives, hosting community-wide education events, hosting a health fair or health screening and connecting residents and employees to healthcare services available through Lee Health.

“The goal is to meet the needs of all residents and employees, so everyone has the health and wellness information and resources they need to empower themselves and their loved ones to take control of their health,” said Lee Health community business development representative Molly Grubbs. “Investing in your health is the greatest gift anyone can give themselves and the Partners in Wellness program makes it easy by hosting convenient informative sessions and making important resources readily available for residents and employees in the program. We are grateful to partner with such likeminded organizations and communities who truly value health and wellness for all.”

The Partners in Wellness program ensures free access to a concierge service that pairs prospective patients with the right physicians, preventive health screenings, and courses and lectures that teach skills, including how to read food labels and incorporating healthy habits. The program also assists employees and residents who have received a new health diagnosis and provides resources to caregivers.

“Lee County Government is honored to be recognized as a Partner in Wellness by Lee Health,” Lee County Board of County Commissioners Chairman Mike Greenwell said. “This designation underscores our commitment to the health and well-being of our employees and the broader community. We are dedicated to providing wellness resources and initiatives that promote healthy outcomes and support our employees in leading healthier lives. This recognition is a testament to the collaborative efforts between our departments and Lee Health, and we look forward to continuing our work together to enhance wellness across Lee County.”

"NeoGenomics is honored to be the first employer in Southwest Florida to receive the 'Partners in Wellness Award.' Our partnership with Lee Health is a testament to the power of collaboration in promoting health and fostering wellness inside and outside our organizations. As a leader in cancer testing and diagnostics for patients worldwide, we also take great pride in being strong neighbors and active community members. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Lee Health for this recognition and their ongoing partnership. Together, we will continue to positively impact the health and wellness of Southwest Florida,” said NeoGenomics chief operating officer Chris Smith.
