On January 10, 2025, Lee Health will host its third annual Pedal for a Purpose event, taking place at Lee Health Coconut Point. This inspiring event underscores the unwavering commitment of Lee Health employees to supporting the cancer community and driving hope for those in need.
Participants and teams will cycle together to raise funds that directly benefit local cancer programs and services. By uniting through this shared purpose, more than one hundred Lee Health employees are riding to make a meaningful impact on the lives of patients and families facing a cancer diagnosis.
"At Lee Health, we believe in rallying behind our community, and Pedal for a Purpose is a powerful demonstration of that commitment," said Carrie Bloemers, Lee Health System Director of Wellness. "We are grateful for the incredible enthusiasm of our employees and the generosity of our sponsors and supporters, which allow us to continue providing critical resources to the cancer community."
The 42 teams will be on their bikes from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. keeping the pedals turning during every minute of the four-hour stretch.
Already this year’s event has raised a record $40,000 to support the men and women in our community battling cancer. The 2025 Pedal for a Purpose is powered by CycleBar. The event is made possible through sponsors in the community who will also ride alongside Lee Health employees including D Jones Family Charitable Foundation, Grandezza, Oak & Stone, Exact Siences, Advocate Radiation Oncology, Suffolk Construction, West Bay Club, WellWay, Safegaurd Shredding LLC, Neogenomics, Brightview, Lee County Wellness, Tricore Wellness, Pediatric Orthopedics of SWFL and Florida Radiology Consultants.
The public is invited to cheer on their favorite riders by donating to help reach the $50,000 goal. Every dollar raised helps strengthen programs that provide essential care, support, and hope to the Lee Health Cancer Institute.
