Selynto Anderson, Ph.D., FACHE
Chief Community Health & Impact Officer
Dr. Selynto Anderson is responsible for championing, developing, executing, and overseeing Lee Health’s community health impact strategy and programs.
Professional Experience
Some of his career accomplishments include leading an initiative to implement social determinants of health into the electronic health record to proactively monitor and track aspects of population health. He also secured grant funding that resulted in the implementation of a Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) substance abuse program. Additionally, he developed policies and procedures around population health management that improved health outcomes and increased access, and he designed a Community Health Needs Assessment and Implementation Strategy that addressed health disparities.
Education
Dr. Anderson earned his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and a master’s degree in education from Anderson University in Anderson, S.C. He spent more than 15 years working for Self-Regional Healthcare in Greenwood, S.C., where he held various positions. He started as a community health educator and grew into management and other key leadership roles, including manager of cardiopulmonary rehabilitation & transitional rehabilitation, director of occupational health services, and director of community prevention and wellness services. He earned a doctorate in public health from Walden University in Minneapolis, and his most recent position before joining Lee Health was VP of Community Health at Self-Regional Healthcare.
Memberships/Community Involvement
Dr. Anderson serves on the boards of Habitat for Humanity of Lee & Hendry Counties, The Chamber of Southwest Florida, and Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida and is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He also serves as the administrative sponsor of Lee Health’s Community Health Improvement Committee, a subcommittee of the board that ensures the hospital system executes its mission and provides benefits to the communities it serves.
