My name is Eric Feinberg. My specialty is obstetrics and gynecology. I am originally from Baltimore, Maryland. I come here via Charlotte, North Carolina. I was there for 20 years in practice and my kids grew up and we were empty nest and I had a fondness for Florida. I was actually active duty air force stationed in Florida before I went to Charlotte and we really enjoyed it and decided to head back this way. OB-GYN is a really unique specialty. It's a surgical subspecialty. I do a lot of surgery. I specialize in some pelvic floor reconstruction, sexual medicine type things, but it's the only surgical specialty that really has continuity of care. I see patients year in and year out. So I get not that I do primary care, but I get that continuity of care with these patients. So I get to know them. I get to see them.
It's not that I do a surgery and they're gone. They remained my patients for years. And then you throw in the obstetrics, which is just unique to all of medicine, to watch a life come into this world and be part of that. And it's just truly amazing. I chose Lee Health because I was impressed with their mission. I was impressed with how they serve the community. I was impressed when I started talking to some of the docs here that told me that they were actually allowed to practice medicine in the way they felt medicine should be practiced and care for the patients in the proper way. I am trying to become a fisherman.
I am not very good at it yet, but I caught a couple of fish this weekend. I was very proud of myself. I'm trying to learn every time I get and get out on the water every chance I get. I'm just really enjoying the water. I love the water, I've been boating, I've been fishing. I want to get back into scuba diving, which I was certified when I lived in Florida 20 years ago and haven't been in the water since. I'm trying to convince my wife to go take sailing lessons. So, I love the water and I'm just really trying to take advantage of what this area has.
