Biography

As a pediatric ophthalmologist, Dr. Kovarik treats children with eye disorders using medical and surgical techniques. She believes that patient understanding is the key to successful communication and partnership with parents, and ultimately to successful treatment. 

She specializes in pediatric and adult strabismus (eye muscle disorders), amblyopia (“lazy eye”), retinopathy of prematurity (eye disease in premature infants), ptosis (droopy eyelids), nasolacrimal duct obstructions (blocked tear ducts) and eye trauma.
 
Dr. Kovarik grew up in Southwest Florida and returned back home to be close to family after completing her medical training. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband and three young girls, going to the beach and exploring the work of local artists.

    DR Kovarick has a personal relation with my son, he enjoys seeing her, she so caring, soft, and makes conversation with him making feel safe.

    Ketie, who I believe is the medical assistant that helped my son before the Dr. see him was excellent with him. She took the time to connect with him in a scary moment for him and through the whole appointment. She communicated with him letting him know what s he was doing and engaged with him through the whole time. Her voice tone, her kidness everything was outstanding. I wanted to give her a spirit award but they didnt have in the office. She sure deserves some recognition for her outstand work and personality on this appointment. Way to go Ketie.
