Biography

Dr. Brown was born in Bogota, Colombia where she attended Medical school. She did a year of research as an Immunology trainee at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. After completing her Internal Medicine Residency, Dr. Brown was a volunteer physician at the Sihanouk Center of Hope in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, a life-changing experience. Dr. Brown completed her Infectious Diseases fellowship at New York Hospital and her clinical research in Brazil.

After she got married, Dr. Brown lived in northern California, before moving to Lynchburg, VA, where she joined a private ID practice. Her family moved to the Fort Myers area to provide her two sons with the opportunity to hone their skills as high-performance tennis players.

She enjoys practicing general Infectious Diseases and has been part of the Ryan White HIV program for the last 20 years.

    I am in my late 80’s and have a number of medical problems. In the complex world in which we live, I believe in specialists even though I value my primary care doctor greatly. Infectious Diseases is a new specialty to me although I now have a condition that qu alifies Dr. Brown is a true professional in this specialty. She is well educated, well trained and has plenty of experience. Although she is very pleasant and has a warm personality, she makes it clear what she expects her patient to comply with the treatment she is providing. Because of my age, 87, I have encountered many doctors in many specialties. I would rate Dr. Brown as the best Infectious disease specialist in this part of Florida , the Southwest coast. As a retired attorney, I have had a great deal of contact with many Of the best doctors in our area. In my judgment, she is the best in her specialty in This part of Florida.

    I have had 3 different physicians at Lee Health [ ] in the past year or so. Dr. Brown is, in my opinion, the best. She is very professional and explains [ ] very well. She and her staff are all very friendly and pleasant to work with. My wife and I use many of the doctors in different specialties in Lee Health. Dr Brown is at or near the top of the list.
