(upbeat music playing) Hi my name is Dr. Laura Veras. I do allergy and immunology and I’m originally from the Dominican Republic. I was not familiar with allergy prior to doing my residency and when I did this rotation, I loved it. It’s a focused field but at the same time it’s quite diverse because you see a lot of conditions and you get a lot of continuity of care which I love. You get to see children and their parents, maybe their grandparents. You get to see the children grow up so you get a wonderful continuity of care. My husband was working here and an opportunity was available for me too, and I really liked it. In my spare time, I like spending time with my family and traveling. (upbeat music playing)

Dr. Veras is superb, so good I gave her name to my gastroenterologist to refer patients. I sought out a immunologist to help identify possible food allergies related to an EOE diagnosis. To my utter surprise Dr. Veras was incredibly well informed regarding EOE disorders and the immense complexity involved in identifying causes as well as having a very realistic perspective on any possible treatment options. Not only does she have precisely the medical expertise and knowledge my situation requires, but her patient interaction skills are exactly what I hope for but do not always experience with a doctor. She is knowledgeable, willing to take the time to answer questions and share detailed medical explanations, and discusses treatment options with realistic honesty in partnership with the patient, etc. But furthermore she is by nature highly empathetic and incredibly effective in creating a caring relationship with a patient.

Both Rose, the MA & Dr Veras were friendly, efficient, informative, & knowledgeable. I enjoyed meeting them & beginning to work with them as transferred from another Lee office as my provider left the practice. Front desk staff was great also
