Dr. Rashid Mirza is a board-certified pediatric gastroenterologist and hepatologist at Lee Health, committed to providing compassionate, expert care for children with a wide range of gastrointestinal and liver disorders. His clinical interests include fatty liver disease, constipation, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting, hematemesis, H. pylori infection, elevated liver function tests (LFTs), pancreatitis, biliary dyskinesia, eosinophilic esophagitis (EOE), celiac disease, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), and cow’s milk protein allergy. Dr. Mirza finds great fulfillment in caring for children with complex hepatology conditions and takes special joy in seeing his patients recover and leave the hospital healthy and smiling. He is passionate about performing GI procedures, using both diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy to advance patient outcomes. His collaborative approach includes consulting with other pediatric subspecialties to ensure comprehensive, multidisciplinary care, particularly for patients with challenging or rare conditions. He received his medical degree from Dow Medical College, part of the University of Karachi, and completed his internship at Civil Hospital Karachi in Pakistan. He went on to complete his pediatric residency at Lincoln Hospital in New York. Dr. Mirza further specialized in pediatric gastroenterology through a fellowship at Westchester Medical Center and completed a clinical fellowship in pediatric hepatology at Mount Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Mirza is board-certified in both Pediatric Gastroenterology and General Pediatrics. His dedication to improving the lives of young patients and his commitment to advancing the field through collaboration and procedural expertise make him a vital part of the pediatric care team at Lee Health.

The doctor was wonderful! I really liked him and my kids felt comfortable with him. He have is referrals and tests that might actually get my kids the answers they need and deserve. Maybe it will help then not be in pain anymore once we have the final answers.
