Stephanie Slagle, MD

(upbeat music) My name is Stephanie Slagle and I am from Pensacola for Florida. I was in Florida for my pediatric residency in St. Pete. I originally grew up in Memphis I come from a family where my mom is from Peru my Dad is actually from the US. So I grew up in Memphis, Tennessee came down to Florida for my residency and then kinda did a circle through Charleston, Tennessee but always want to come back to south Florida. My husband and I love the diversity, I love that diversity of course from the Latin community and so we knew we would end up here eventually. So through our lives this opportunity opened up and I jumped for it. So I’m a pediatric hospitalist and basically what that is is I work primarily at the Golasano Children’s Hospital only. I see patients that are admitted into the general pediatric inpatient floor. So children come in with asthma exacerbation or have an abscess and need antibiotics, IV antibiotics, things like that and we don’t have offices outside in the community like a pediatrician. We love to travel, it’s my husband and I so we love to travel on our time off. We love soccer, we been to England a few times to see our favorite—Team Chelsea—hopefully that wont’ turn anybody off. [Reporter joking off-camera: It does, but that’s okay, go on.] We love Chelsea. Um, but so we watch soccer all the time and my husband actually plays soccer so I will go, I don’t, but I’ll go and I’m a big fan but traveling and just going to the beach that’s our big, our big hobbies (upbeat music)
