Thomas Hunt, MD

"My name is Dr. Thomas Hunt I’m the vice president and chief physician executive for the musculoskeletal services here at Lee Health which to me really means bones and joints muscles. Nerves everything that’s required from movement and function. And I recently moved here from Houston Texas. I joined Lee Health in the summer of 2023 and I joined for a variety of reasons but most importantly I joined because the culture and the respect that the organization seems to show employees and staff is affiliated providers and just generally the patients and the focus on patient Care. I love the involvement in the community. I think it’s an organization that’s critical to this region of Florida and I’m very thankful to be here. I’m a hand, wrist and elbow surgeon, and I chose that especially because I feel as though and others have said it that the hand is really the privileged messenger of the mind. it’s how you interact with the environment. It’s how you express yourself it’s how you be human and honestly it’s one of the more complex areas in the body to reconstruct and treat because of everything that goes on in such a small space and it’s that need for precision. that really drew me to the to the surgical world of the hand and wrist. I joke and my family has told me that I dedicated my life to golf. In fact I haven’t, but I love the sport. I’m very involved in fitness, especially biking. I would love to go mountain climbing when we’re away from Florida and skiing here water sports play anything outdoors and active that’s what I enjoy."
