Stroke Program

The Stroke Program is designed for people who are medically stable but have limitations because of a stroke or other neurological disorders.

We also treat Parkinson’s disease, neuropathy, multiple sclerosis, and other types of neurological conditions. Patients who may benefit from the stroke rehabilitation program have experienced a loss in mobility, self-care, communication, or cognition.

Some conditions that the program may address include:

  • Paralysis
  • Weakness
  • Gait disturbance
  • Coordination difficulties
  • Incontinence
  • Problems with sensory loss
  • Impairments of memory or problem-solving skills
  • Communication problems
  • Swallowing problems
  • Home safety

Our stroke team works with patients, family members, and referring physicians to set goals for a successful return to normal activities.

Patients benefit from individual, comprehensive treatment that typically includes occupational, physical, and/or speech therapy.

When they are not in therapy, patients will practice skills to gain independence, and nursing staff will help provide education on a variety of topics.
