About the Pharmacy Residency Program

With approximately 150 Lee Health pharmacists at four adult acute care facilities, all of which contain a Lee Pharmacy (community retail pharmacy), one pediatric acute care facility, a Regional Cancer Center, an Outpatient Infusion Center, two primary care clinics, an Employee Health Plan Pharmacy and two clinic-based retail pharmacies, we provide Pharmacy Services in both the inpatient and outpatient settings.

Pharmacists are involved in Interdisciplinary Team Rounds in the ICUs, PICU, NICU, Oncology and Pediatric Oncology Units. Pharmacists also participate in Progression of Care Rounds and provide decentralized services on most patient care units.

Our pharmacists provide medication education to our inpatients, work with Care Management and our Lee Pharmacy staff to ensure our patients have successful transitions of care upon discharge through a system-wide bedside prescription delivery service. Pharmacists and pharmacy technicians are decentralized to all five of our Emergency Departments.

Our pharmacists play an integral role in the Medication Safety Committee, Institutional Review Committee, and Pharmacy & Therapeutic Committee. In addition, our pharmacists have an active Antimicrobial Stewardship program, provide Kinetics Dosing Services, Nutritional Support Services, and an Anticoagulation Dosing Service.

Residency applicants must be authorized for employment in the United States at the time they apply for the residency. Lee Health Pharmacy Residency Programs do not sponsor applicants for work visas. Lee Health Pharmacy Residency Program cannot accommodate OPT (Optional Practical Training) Visas.

Appointments of applicants to residency positions are contingent upon the applicants satisfying certain eligibility requirements [e.g., graduating from accredited college of pharmacy, obtaining pharmacist license in Florida within 120 days of start date, and successful completion of all pre-employment requirements including but limited to a physical and drug screen.

Graduates of international pharmacy schools will be considered if they meet the ASHP criteria for application to residency (“To be eligible for pharmacist licensure, candidates must be graduates or candidates for graduation from an ACPE accredited degree program (or one in the process of pursuing accreditation) or have a Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Examination Committee (FPGEC) certificate from the NABP”).
