Guided by the needs of our customers, our values define our culture and how we are expected to act.
Safety is a culture, a way of life, a promise to patients.
Safety – for patients and employees alike – is a top priority at Lee Health and a shared responsibility. That means that we don’t hesitate to report accidents and incidents using the proper channels, correct or report safety hazards, use protective equipment, and keep areas free of spills and insecure materials.
When it comes to health and hospitals, we speak the truth and nothing but the truth.
Whenever we’re dealing with patients, we speak the whole truth. We follow the rules when treating patients and using Lee Health property and resources, never bending them for our own gain.
People may not remember what you said or did, but they will always remember how you made them feel. - Maya Angelou
Most people will never go to medical school or know how to decipher medical terms, but they deserve to know what’s going on with their health and the health of their loved ones. We take the time to explain diagnoses and treatments in words they can understand. We don’t talk down to or lose patience with our customers. We help them understand what’s going on, understand their options, and process their feelings.
Quality health care takes all of us.
No member of our team can cure patients by themselves. Lee Health employees don’t know everything about medicine on their own. That’s why we recruit top talent in various specialties. It’s also why we all give our best in our respective fields but rely on our peers and colleagues to help take total care of our patients. We care about our coworkers’ and team’s success, and we do all we personally can to ensure both.
We’re our own biggest fans.
As we say, “We are Caring People. Inspiring Health.” We also count some of the nation’s leading specialists among our ranks. We believe these things - we truly are Southwest Florida’s health care leaders. So, you’ll forgive us if we get a little too excited about all our system and peers have to offer. Shameless self-promoters? Nah. We just know we’ll all do whatever it takes to keep us on top.
We speak up.
No one knows your job – or how to improve it – better than you. We’re big on communication and love to hear ideas on how we can better serve our customers. Come on, let’s hear it – don’t be shy!
Frugal is fabulous.
As a community-owned health system, we have an extra responsibility to not only provide the best care, but do it as efficiently as possible. We don’t cut corners, but we do make sure we’re using our money and resources in the manner that will best serve the community and our patients. We think of our care system as our home, and system money as our own money to be spent wisely in service of patient care.
Stretching isn’t just for the gym…or the Healthy Life Centers
When a trauma comes into our ER, it’s all hands on deck to save the patient. There’s a lot of pressure, but we get a rush out of saving lives and pitching in where needed. That sense of flexibility is found throughout our care system. At Lee Health, you won't hear many people say, "That's not in my job description". You will hear many employees say, “What else can I do to help?”
