From injuries to illnesses to yearly check-ups, residents in and near Babcock Ranch now have a medical facility close to home. “The nearest outpatient clinic with Lee is at the Sanctuary. It’s still quite a bit of a drive, so this is going to be convenient for people who live here and also for people around the surrounding communities,” explained Dr. Jennifer Dalrymple, a family medicine physician with Lee Health.
Filled with six exam rooms, the new family medicine facility in Babcock Ranch is equipped to provide medical care to every member of the family. “We see all patients from newborns to centenarians, that’s part of the beauty of family medicine,” said Dr. Dalrymple.
The team of doctors includes resident physicians and faculty, all part of the family medicine residency program with Lee Health. “Residents are always in the cutting edge of new science and new technology, and just recently we took on a lifestyle medicine curriculum throughout the residency program, so that will be really nice to have the residents implement some of the skills that they are learning here,” she said.
Providing a wide range of primary care, preventative medicine, health screenings and treatment for chronic disease, the new facility hopes to become an asset in the developing community. “Especially in a new cutting-edge community like this, I feel like getting in right at the ground roots will just help it grow,” said Dr. Dalrymple.
Improving the health of a growing community.
