Thousands of Top U.S. Hospitals Encourage Everyone to #MaskUp

100 of the nation’s top health care systems, representing thousands of hospitals in communities across the U.S., have come together with an urgent plea for all Americans – mask up, because wearing a facemask is our best chance at slowing the surging COVID-19 pandemic now. Lee Health is proud to stand united with these hospitals.

The next several months will be critical. While the arrival of the vaccine provides optimism we must remember to remain vigilant, take precautions and follow public health orders. It will take months to have an adequate supply of vaccines to get to everyone in our community. The coronavirus is still spreading, and hospitalizations and deaths are still rising. People’s lives are at stake, and just because the vaccine brings hope does not mean we can let up now.

Until the CDC issues guidance to stop, we must do all we can to protect ourselves and others. We must keep wearing our masks, regularly washing our hands and practice safe physical distancing. This means even if you have already received the vaccine, as it takes up to six weeks from your first dose for our bodies to reach full immunization protection.
