Caregiving and Alzheimer's Disease

As caregivers, you play an essential role in the care and support of individuals with Alzheimer's disease. In playing such a pivotal role in the care of a loved one there are many challenges you face, which can lead to emotional stress, physical exhaustion, and burnout. Our goal is to provide you with the necessary support to manage these challenges effectively.

Here are some options to help you cope with caregiver stress:

  • Reach out to family, friends, or support groups who can relate to your experience.
  • Ensure regular breaks to rest and recharge.
  • Engage in self-care activities such as exercise, meditation, or hobbies that bring you joy.
  • Create a routine and prioritize tasks to provide a sense of control.
  • Don't hesitate to ask for help. Delegate tasks or consider hiring respite care to give yourself a much-needed break.

At Lee Health, we offer a variety of programs and support services to assist you, including educational materials, counseling, and access to support groups. Our goal is to ease the burden of caregiving and promote your well-being, as well as that of your loved ones with Alzheimer's disease.
