Business Structure Evaluation Process Updates

We're currently conducting an evaluation of Lee Health's business structure.  Explore all available documents and dive deeper into the process by learning more here.

First Trimester (4-11 weeks)

There are three main providers who deliver babies — an obstetrician (OB/GYN), family practice physician and certified nurse midwife.

An obstetrician is a physician who specializes in high-risk and low-risk prenatal and gynecologic care. Some family practice physicians receive additional training to provide low-risk prenatal care and deliveries.

A midwife is a nurse practitioner who has additional training and specializes in low-risk prenatal care and vaginal births.

Check with your insurance plan, friends and family to select a provider who is best for you.
