Occupational Therapy: Occupational therapists (OTs) are licensed healthcare professionals, whose interventions help people recovering from injury to regain skills and provide support for older adults experiencing physical and cognitive changes. Occupational therapy practitioners enable people of all ages to live life to its fullest by helping them promote health, and prevent — or live better with — injury, illness, or disability.
Physical Therapy: Physical therapists (PTs) can teach patients how to improve or manage their condition so that they will achieve long-term health benefits following initial evaluation. PTs develop an individualized plan, using treatment techniques to promote the ability to move, reduce pain, restore function, and promote an active lifestyle. Physical therapists are licensed health care professionals.
Speech Therapy: Speech therapists (SLPs) are licensed health care professionals who work to prevent, assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in adults. In skilled nursing, SLPs work as part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary team.
