Language Assistance

It’s all about communication! Our hospital staff and patients must talk openly and honestly to ensure the best care. Please let your nurse know if you need language assistance.

Language Services

People from all walks of life, backgrounds, and cultures make their home right here in Southwest Florida. Lee Health believes in sensitivity and respect – especially since cultural and language barriers affect the delivery of safe and effective care.

That’s why our diversity team provides language services at no cost to our patients. That includes:

  • Staff interpreters and dual role Interpreters in Spanish and Haitian Creole at all hospitals.
  • Phone interpretation service with more than 170 available languages and video remote interpreting (VRI).
  • On-site interpretation, telephone, and video remote interpreting services in American Sign Language.

Lee Health staff members will make every effort to provide qualified interpretation services or other methods of communication to community members and their companions who speak limited English or are deaf, blind, visually impaired, or have trouble hearing. For more information or to schedule an interpreter, you can also call 239-424-3806.
